Final Shots (Maybe)

Some final shots of the animation...maybe...I want a better background and will need grass to move as it's walked on and some final touches in After Effects.

Adding a few uncoloured shots but animation finished.

About 50 seconds done. Still plenty to do but the finish line is close into sight. Lets get this done!

Animation WIP

Work in Progress. Everything will be coloured once the animations is finished and edited together. The whole animation is looking to be about a minute and a half long.

Blimey

Someone doesn't like Magpies or cats O.o

More machinima work

Learnt some good tips from a friend on how to get smoother shots and also found a way to make camera pans a lot sleeker. A couple of test videos around the sim I plan to use for my story.

I'm going to be investing in a joystick for PCs as apparently this is the best way to get nice smooth camera shots from all angles.

Brendon tells me what time it is...

And I always listen :)

More Inworld footage

Some edited footage taken last night at popular industry music club. Making it so a number of avatars do the same animation in Second Life is achieved in many ways. One way being the chimera. An invisible prim (building object in Second Life) that is scripted to make all avatars who allow it permission to be animated in sync. Chimeras are normally used for group dances such as this one demonstrated. The chimera is located on my head but is invisible so can't been seen. This also gave me chance to work on camera movements and editing.

Previous Machinima tests.

Here are just a few tests of recording footage in Second Life using the software Fraps. Next week I'll be creating footage in Flash and using it together with footage in Second Life.

All these tests were taken just for fun before knowing I would actually be using machinima in my final work. So please excuse the silliness. :) Also they were not taken a very high resoluction or FPS so will hopefully record in better quality for my final works.

The Magpie and the Cat animatic

Animatic to The Magpie and the Cat with no sound.

Original Work for The Magpie and the Cat - Production Bible

Pages from the Production bible I made for The Magpie and the Cat.

Original Work for The Magpie and the Cat - Story Boards

Here are some are the original storyboards for The Magpie and the Cat. Of course I won't be making the film (at least not for the moment) but still want to share what I worked on.

Lets start again...

"One for Sorrow, two for joy..."

Magpies and black cats are usually linked to bad luck. In some cultures if you see one magpie by itself you are advised to salute it or else you will receive bad luck. If a black cat crosses your path you will also receive bad luck. However in some cultures people believe black cats to be good luck. The white cat is also seemed lucky too. When you see two magpies together it is the opposite effect to one and you should receive good luck. The negative is so easily turn into a positive depending on the way you look at it.

I felt I was unable to produce the final piece I wanted to create. However I want to keep the magpie and cat as a theme through my work. I'll be mainly focusing on small animations and also machinimas with elements on animation and After Effects work within then. I report on my progress through this blog once it is fully constructed. Lets get going...
